United StatesA Montana lawmaker is calling for a bill to overturn the state's 2004 medical marijuana initiative in the next legislative session. State Sen. Jim Shockley (R-Victor), said that the law is flawed because it provides no control over dosage, distribution, or growing.

"That initiative needs to be taken off the books and now that the legislature's been told that the people of Montana want a reasonable medical marijuana program, the legislature can work on it," Shockley said. "I don't know how it's going to come out, but I know that the initiative itself did not work like the people that voted, most of the people that voted, would've wanted it to. It's simply being abused." (KXLH, Helena, May 26)
